Love, work, money and health start at three stars and move one star per rule: money gains with a stem your element controls or a six-harmony or triad branch, work with a stem that feeds or controls yours, love with a six-harmony or triad branch, health with a stem that feeds yours. A clash takes a star from every area, wonjin one from love, and a controlling stem one from health.
The lucky element follows the stem: when the day's element feeds yours, it is that element; when it matches yours or yours controls it, it is the element yours produces; when yours feeds it, the element that feeds yours; when it controls yours, the element between the two. Colours and numbers come in pairs, the first on a yang day and the second on a yin day. The lucky hour is the waking-hours period (05:00–21:00, the 卯 to 戌 hours) of that element whose branch suits your animal best, never its clash. Water's hours (亥, 子) fall at night, so on a Water day it is the waking period that suits your animal best. The hour to take it slow is the one whose branch clashes with yours.
These weights are this site's own reading of traditional relations, and schools differ on some of them (punishment and self-punishment especially); wonjin comes from Korean folk compatibility. They describe the character of a day; they do not predict events.
Conventions: 子未 and 丑午 are both wonjin and harm, so both deductions apply (wonjin as the main tie, harm as a further harsh tie). Three Harmony here is a half-triad (半合): two of the three branches meet. The yin or yang of 子, 午, 巳 and 亥 follows their main qi (本氣). The day turns at 00:00 Seoul time and the Rat hour is shown as 23:00–01:00; some Korean practitioners use 23:30–01:30.

Each day has a stem-and-branch name in the sixty-day cycle, called iljin in Korean. The reading compares the day's branch with your animal's branch (six harmony, triad, clash and so on) and the day stem's element with your animal's element, then adds the points published in the method section above. It is a day read through traditional relations, not a forecast of events.
At midnight Seoul time (KST), when the date and its day pillar change. Some traditions start the day at 23:00 with the Rat hour; this page keeps the calendar day, so everyone sees the same reading for the same date. The same day and the same animal give everyone the same result. In the Americas and Europe the Seoul date can be a day ahead of yours, so in your evening you may already see the next day's reading.
Your zodiac animal follows a twelve-year cycle, and the year turns at the Start of Spring (Lichun, 3–5 February), the boundary used in saju and traditional East Asian fortune-telling. If you were born between 1 January and that date, you belong to the previous year's animal. Enter your birth month and day and the page works this out for you, and it also shows the animal you would have counting from 1 January. Some families count from Lunar New Year instead, which can differ by a few weeks.
Ten heavenly stems (甲 to 癸) and twelve earthly branches (子 to 亥) pair up in order, giving sixty names from 甲子 to 癸亥. Days have run through this cycle without a break for centuries, so a day pillar returns every sixty days, and its tie with your animal returns with it.

Your animal comes from your birth year, but saju reads you through the stem of your birth day, the day master. With your birth month and day the page works out that stem and shows which of the Ten Gods (十神) today's stem is for it, and how your birth-day branch meets today's branch. Your birth hour is not used.
A low score marks a slow-down day, not a bad-luck day. It usually means the day's branch clashes or rubs against yours, or its element presses on yours: keep plans flexible, double-check details and leave big decisions for a smoother day. Scores move every day: the same branch tie comes back every 12 days, and the whole day pillar, with the same score, every 60 days.
Sites weigh things differently. Here only the day pillar is read against your animal (and, with a birth date, your day master), using the weights published above; schools also differ on some relations, such as punishment and wonjin. Read a few if you like, and treat any of them as one view of the day.
